White List Setup

As with everything we have done so far the trusted senders list can be managed on a global level, which means that the domain administrator handles the filters and the trusted senders list, or on a local level which means that the user handles the filters and the trusted senders list.

This example will assume that you have followed our procedure and set up a very simple two rule filter on your personal email account to capture spam. Your spam is being sent to a spam account and you find out that somebody you want to receive mail from has ended up going to the spam account. However if you have set up a domain content filter then you will need to access "Domain Spam Filtering" from the Domain Settings menu item.

The procedure starts by logging on to the web based email. Log on to your account using your full email address and your password on our web based email at http://pobox.lhhostingcom

From the Settings menue choose the "My Spam Filtering" option.

(Or Domain Spam Filtering if setting up global content filters)

Press the tab on the "My Spam Filtering" labeled "Trusted Senders". This is a very simple multiline entry screen where you can add email addresses and/or domain names that will be skipped from being processed by your content filters. Why will it be skipped from being filtered? Beacuse in every case when you crated a filter for eliminating spam your very first rule, the White List rule, was designed to allow any mail from a "Trusted Sender" to be delivered without any further processing.
When you are finished entering your trusted senders press "Save" on the menu and you are done. You can return here any time you wish and add or remove trusted senders from the list. There are no limits to the number of domains and/or email addresses you can add. Try however to be efficient by not adding multiple email addresses all from the same domain. Use the domain name instead to cover all the users.
